Compliancy Statement
Contegro has been developed along guidelines set for producing W3C XHTML 1.0 Strict and W3C CSS 2.1 compliant code. To achieve every aspects of these standards Contegro would have to make concessions that would negatively impact the design and functional aspects of Contegro websites.
The exceptions to XHTML validation are:
- There is no attribute "target" for links. This is an attribute we have chosen not to remove as there is no suitable alternative. We have added a class of "TargetBlank" for future proofing where CSS 3 supports a target attribute. No browsers currently support CSS 3.
- There is no attribute "align". This is only used for vertically centred alignment. Current browsers do not appear to accurately support the vertical-align style so we have chosen not to remove this as there is no suitable alternative.
Notes to CSS 2.1 compliant code:
- Validation would be achieved for CSS 2.0 validation without the inclusion of "inline-block" for 'display'. Inline-block has been chosen in some instances for design purposes in mainstream browsers.
- As design flexibility is restricted in IE6 fixes for IE6 have been used to override essential design features allowed in other browsers.
